MEDIBRIDGE.NET includes an integrated secure encrypted messaging based on the official NwHIN Direct standards and protocols from the United States Department of Health and Human Services ONC. It enables users to send S/MIME messages over SSL enabled SMTP to any other trusted user that is NwHIN Direct enabled user. All of the public key discovery and encryption are done on the gateway and are transparent to the end user. The service can be accessed from any SMTP client that supports SSL (Outlook, Thunderbird, or gMail, to name a few). You can also send mail from Andoid, iPad, or iPhones using the built in mail client or your favorite one from the App Store.
MEDIBRIDGE.NET Direct secure messaging also provides an interface to the XDS.b Data Repository and allows users to send Continuity of Care documents and other clinical documents to any XD enabled Health Information Exchange endpoint regardless of whether the endpoint uses
MEDIBRIDGE.NET Direct provides a means of transport for HIPAA secure messages and in most cases can integrate with your organizations existing email infrastructure (Microsoft Exchange or Apache James) or you can use our Health Information Service Provider for a low monthly fee per mailbox if your organization does not have a Direct capable email system.
